Offutt School Presents guest speakers are leaders of influential organizations that range from publicly traded corporations to entrepreneurial firms building the products and services of the future. The speaker is invited to share reflections in a 35-minute program, including a conversational interview with a moderator and a Q&A with attendees. Topics of conversation include one or more of the four themes of the Offutt School of Business program: ethics, leadership, entrepreneurism and globalism.

David W. MacLennan is chairman and chief executive officer of Cargill. He was elected to the Cargill Board of Directors in 2008 and previously served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer. Joining Cargill in 1991, he has held management positions within the financial, risk management, energy, and animal protein platforms, living in both London and Geneva. Prior to joining Cargill, he worked in the futures and securities sector in Chicago and was president of fixed income capital markets at U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray. Outside of Cargill, MacLennan serves on the boards of Ecolab, the Minnesota Business Partnership, as chairman, the National Association of Manufacturers and the U.S.-China Business Council. He has served on several corporate and nonprofit boards, with a focus on the needs of underprivileged youth and access to education. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Amherst College and an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago.


Mark Jordahl ’82 is president of U.S. Bancorp’s Wealth Management Group. In this capacity, Jordahl is responsible for all Wealth Management services at U.S. Bancorp, including investment management, brokerage services, private banking, insurance, personal trust, and financial planning. Prior to serving in his current role, Jordahl served as chief investment officer of FAF Advisors, president and CIO of ING Investment Management Americas, and CIO of ReliaStar Financial Corp. He is chair emeritus of Allina Health and also serves on the boards of St. Olaf College, Walker Art Center and Lakewood Cemetery. As a frequent spokesperson for the firm, Jordahl has appeared regularly on CNBC-TV. He has also appeared as a guest host on CNBC TV’s “Squawk Box” and on Bloomberg TV. Jordahl earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and English from Concordia College and an MBA from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, in Minneapolis.
