Susan Larson (BA, Univ. of Manitoba; PhD, McMaster University) joined the faculty at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in 1998. She is a Professor and she is currently the Chair of the Division of Sciences and Mathematics. Between 2009 and 2016 she served as College's first Director of Undergraduate Research and Student Scholarship.
Larson teaches a variety of psychology and neuroscience classes and engages students in undergraduate research through course-embedded research experiences in her Research Methods and Learning and Behavior course. She also supervises students in her laboratory on research projects that include the investigation of behavioral and cognitive changes associated with immune system activation and analysis of variables affecting motor learning.
Larson is a Councilor with the Council on Undergraduate Research and in 2016-2017 serves as the president of this national organization, whose mission is "to support and promote high quality student-faculty collaborative research and scholarship." In the fall of 2008, Larson was the recipient of the Ole and Lucy Flaat Distinguished Scholarship award at Concordia College.
